Lone Star Community Scholarships
The Lone Star community's Scholarship Committee offers two scholarship programs for technical communication professionals in Region 5 or members of the STC Lone Star Community.
- The Traditional Education Scholarship helps students pursuing a technical communication degree and beginning a career in the field.
- Our Professional Development Scholarship helps both students and professionals who are transitioning into the field and are furthering their professional development by enrolling in technical communication courses or workshops.
The Scholarship Committee evaluates applicants' academic records and potential for contributing to the technical communication profession. However, when applicants are judged to be comparable in these respects, the committee also considers a student’s or professional’s financial need.
Judging will take place soon. Winners will be notified by phone or mail. The scholarship recipients will be formally recognized at a Lone Star Community meeting.
Deadline for Applications for Either Scholarship
Submit your application by midnight (CST) on Friday, March 28, 2008.

Scholarship applications are only accepted in electronic format, either PDF or HTML. Specific requirements for either scholarship are listed below. Send your completed application to scholarship@stc-dfw.org
