IPIC, originally
the Internet Professional Interest Committee, is the name of the Lone
Star Community's mailing list. The LSC uses the IPIC list to broadcast
reminders about meetings, conferences, deadlines for registration or
entry submissions, and membership renewal. Other messages inform subscribers
about last-minute changes in community activities, opportunities for volunteers,
or relevant technical communication events in our area.
Membership
in the Lone Star Community or the STC is not a requirement for subscribing
to IPIC. However, only the IPIC list administrators are authorized to post
messages.
Subscribing
to the IPIC Mailing List
- From
your Web browser, access Lyris’ IPIC Mailing List page at
http://lists.stc.org/cgi-bin/lyris.pl?enter=ipic.
- Click
the Join ipic button.
- On the
Join page, enter your e-mail address. Optionally, enter your
name. Accept the defaults on the other items.
- Click
the Save button.
The
Information page appears with this message: "Membership information
saved. A confirmation message was sent to your e-mail address."
- Check
your e-mail account for a new message from Lyris with the subject, "Your confirmation is needed."
The
message will prompt you to respond: "To confirm that you want to join,
reply to this message."
- Reply
to the message without making changes to the subject line or body
of the message.
This
sends your confirmation to lyris-confirm@lists.stc.org.
Note: If you do not reply to the confirmation message, you will
not be added to the mailing list.
- Lyris
will reply confirming your addition to the IPIC mailing list on stc.org.
Unsubscribing
from the IPIC Mailing List
Use this
procedure to unsubscribe from the IPIC mailing list.
Note: You are also be reminded how to unsubscribe to IPIC in
the footer of each message broadcast to the IPIC list.
- From
your Web browser, access Lyris’ IPIC Mailing List page:
http://lists.stc.org/cgi-bin/lyris.pl?enter=ipic.
- Type
your e-mail address and password (if any).
- Click
the Click here to enter ipic button.
- Click
the Leave button.
- On the
Leave page, click the Leave button to delete your e-mail
address from the IPIC mailing list.
The
Information page appears with this message: "You have been
successfully removed from this list."
