Please join us for the first meeting of the 2006-2007 program year as we continue to celebrate our 50th anniversary with Technical Communicator Robert W. Crump. Robert will present ROI and Measures of Value Added from Technical Communications.
Our Sept. 14, 2006, community meeting is a joint meeting with the LSC Fort Worth Satellite. The meeting will be held at the Crowne Plaza North Dallas/Addison Hotel at 14315 Midway Road in Addison, Texas.
ROI and Measures of Value Added from Technical Communications addresses both financial and non-financial measures of return on investment (ROI) from technical communications. Measures include social ROI, net present value, and internal rate of return.
Attendees will learn about sources of ROI and how to perform financial ROI calculations, both with and without a financial calculator. Robert will explain how to perform the calculations step-by-step and also demonstrate how to calculate ROI with a financial calculator. After the presentation, attendees will be able to clearly demonstrate the value they bring to their organizations.
To demonstrate technical communication’s value to an organization, technical communication professionals must be able to speak the language of business. By expressing their value in business terms, communicators can give people who don’t understand technical communications something to glom onto.
