Chapter Elections & Volunteer Request

Folks, we need your help. This is the time of year when the Nominations committee concludes its work and prepares the slate of officers for our April elections. We like to have contested elections, where we have more than one person running for offices like Second Vice-President or Secretary, even though we don’t always have enough candidates.

This is also the time of year when we plan the council for the upcoming year. It’s very important that we have these committee chairs in place by the end of April. This allows time for the incoming chairs to work with the outgoing chairs on transitioning the responsibilities smoothly, thus keeping the organization running.

The roles that we need you to step forward and accept are:

• Scholarship Manager
• Public Relations Committee Chair
• Membership Manager

The members who hold these positions have committed to helping the new chairs and managers get up-to-speed with the responsibilities and, in some cases, continue to serve on the committees. I have served in two of these roles and would be willing to talk to anyone who wants to discuss the responsibilities. The current managers and chairs are also willing to talk prospective volunteers.

Not interested in chairing one of these committees? Please let Mel Haughton, our volunteer wrangler, know that you want to serve on one of these committees next year. Would you like to help out with SIN SIG? Would you like to write Media Alerts? Would you like to review scholarship applications or solicit stores for items for our scholarship door prizes? Each of these is a committee task. We need volunteers like you, today!
