Annual and Regional conferences usually bring lots of people together. At the LSC, we're a bunch of overachievers! In three years, we've planned two conferences: one annual (2003) and one regional (2006). Talk about working hard to make a difference!
During the annual conference in 2003, I volunteered at the welcome booth, folded and delivered daily newsletters, and did whatever they needed me to do. I was a bit green... hadn't been involved with STC and the LSC all that much. I never really noticed how much time and effort the volunteers put into that conference.
This year, I am witnessing firsthand all the work Jackie Damrau, our Conference Manager, has put into this conference. Without Jackie, we would not have had a conference this year. I really admire her dedication to STC and LSC and her love for our profession. Luckily, Jackie had some BIG helpers.
Elisa Miller was her right arm. Halfway through organizing everything, Jackie named Elisa co-manager of the conference. She keeps telling me that she could not have done this without Elisa.
Paula Robertson brought in Adobe Systems as our Platinum Sponsor ($3200 donation). Go Paula! She is also in charge of programs and proceedings alongside ElisaMiller.
Barbara Ruth did an excellent job writing up the documents requesting sponsorships from prospective corporate sponsors.
Ann Balaban was our facilities organizer and coordinated rooms and presentations at the hotel.
Kristy Nolan served as our treasurer alongside trusty Chris La Porte.
Beth Bailey and DougDow created and updated the Region 5 website.
Jacque Miller provided dedicated graphics support.
Paul Holland took notes at meetings, provided backup graphics support, and performed other duties as needed.
Jeanne Foster and Bianca Sias served as database and registration managers.
DeborahSchwartz, CarlaStokes, and LindaRummans took care of hospitality issues. They're the ladies who will welcome you as you walk through the doors.
DougDow and DaleErickson agreed to snap pictures of every moment of the conference.
MaxineHigginbotham served as public relations manager and ensured that our conference was well publicized.
I would also like to thank our room monitors and everyone who pitched in to make this conference a success. Without all of you, this event would not have been possible
