Some of my writer friends and I have a little ad hoc network we call the "Twilight Bark." When I have something on the job I need to know more about, I drop an e-mail to those folks and see if they have ideas. Most of the time one of them has dealt with my issue and has an idea. I also answer the Bark e-mails I get from them, if I can shed any light on their questions.
It is time to share the concept with all of you!
The Lone Star Community is blessed with many senior members who have wide and varied backgrounds. The Help Desk is a new way to leverage all that knowledge and help each other solve problems. Do you need to create a corporate style guide? Find a better way to communicate with your SME? How about a recommendation of a good book on e-learning? These are just a few of the topics I know that your fellow members can address. Your community is a rich resource and it is time we learned to use it.
Go to the LSC website at www.stc-dfw.org and click the Help Desk link on the sidebar.

You'll need to Register first using the link at the top right. Once you do this, we'll get an e-mail to approve your registration and check your name against the membership list. (This step ensures that only members will have access to the Help Desk.) Once approved, you will receive an e-mail letting you know that you can log in and begin to create topics, post info, and connect to your community in a new way.
We look forward to many of you diving into the help desk pool. Come on in, the water is fine!
