Lone Star Holiday Party Shines

Start your holiday season off right at the Lone Star Community Holiday Party! You are very cordially invited to join your Council and other Lone Star members for an evening of dining, dancing, socializing, and charity fund raising at the elegant DFW Airport Marriott. If you attended the November Community meeting, you know how lovely it is!

Wear your holiday finest and show your peers you live in something other than business attire. Want to relax at your holiday party? Go on; come in business casual. Even if your boss doesn't let you, we'll be happy to celebrate your casual, holiday spirit! Either way, be prepared to smile for pictures!

I know as soon as I said dining and dancing, you checked out the delicious menu your 1st Vice President, Louellen Coker, has arranged for our party, but did you know we'll be swinging to the sounds of Sax and Company, featuring your Newsletter Editor, Doug Dow? At our meetings, usually you see him behind the camera; at the party you'll see him behind the alto sax. Don't dance much? No one's there to judge (that's the January meeting). Remember a few steps to the Electric Slide? Show 'em! You're a good dancer? Ask a fellow member! As a professional communicator, you'll be able to whip your partner into shape in no time.

We will be collecting cash donations for a local charity's holiday drive. (Y'all, it will probably be the Salvation Army's Angel Tree; we will finalize the choice at the December council meeting. If you have a suggestion, contact any council member at http://www.stc-dfw.org/pages/cont_main.htm.) Additionally, a variety of gifts will be available for silent auction. All proceeds will benefit the Lone Star's General Fund. Your friendly neighborhood PR Manager has it on good authority that our crafty Scholarship Chair, Ann Balaban, will be donating some lovely, one-of-a-kind wreaths to this auction; bid early, bid often and come see what else we have to tickle your fancy! You might wrap up your holiday shopping in one fun night.

In closing, our president, Dr. Jackie Damrau would like to say, "The holiday season is one of merriment and joy. As we join together for a time of networking and dancing, let's not forget those of our troops and others that are far away from home during this time. To all the LSC family, have a happy and safe holiday season. We'll see you again in January at our Annual Awards Banquet."

Meeting Time & Logistics

Join us on December 9^th at the DFW Airport Marriott Hotel in Irving and meet Lone Star Community members and interested peers!

Registration and networking begin at 5:45 P.M., dinner is served at 6:30 p.m., dancing begins at 7:30 P.M., with continued socializing until the last member leaves. Dinner costs $20 for STC members and $25 for non-members. Registration deadline is 5:00 P.M. on Monday, December 6, 2004.
