A former LSC president (1996-97), Ann has produced award-winning documentation at Texas Instruments for many years. Recently, high-quality documentation was cited as a significant factor in obtaining new business.
With her Master’s degree in Technical Writing from the University of North Texas now complete, Louellen Coker has more than 10 years of experience in technical writing from instructional design to newsletters, forms, and company papers. She has taught writing classes at Collin County Community College, and she conducts writing seminars for area English teachers. She is currently on the Communications Committee for the Dallas Chapter of the American Society for Training and Development.
Paul W. Conant is the owner of PWC Editing, where he provides proofreading, word processing and copyediting (in any order), with the desire to make you look better.
Jackie Damrau works at Perot Systems. She has more than 20 years of technical writing experience, and 6 years in creating training materials and delivering soft skills training courses. When not spending the majority of her time working for Perot Systems or assisting with the local STC chapter, Jackie enjoys going to the movies, reading classic literature authors or Irish/Scottish/English historical romance novels or time-travel romance novels.
Doug has been a member of the Lone Star Chapter since 1990, when he transferred from the Boston chapter. He has served in various capacities, including competition judge, chair of the Community Service Committee, and is now in his third year as newsletter Managing Editor. Doug works for Kronos in Cleburne, Texas. His interests outside of the cubicle include T'ai Ch'i, swing dancing, and honking one of his many saxophones.
An aspiring technical writer, Jennifer graduated in 2003 from the University of North Texas' well-known technical communication program. A book lover, she currently works part time in Denton's public library system, and would like eventually to be an acquisitions editor for a book publishing company.
A former LSC president (2001-2002), Michelle is one of the many LSC members working for MetaSolv in Plano. Michelle now serves the chapter as Volunteer Coordinator and as Webmaster.
Elisa Kaplan Miller has, in her checkered past, been an instructional designer, Webmaster, writer, educator and usability professional. She possesses an MA in instructional technology from the University of Texas at Austin and is ABD in information technology at Drexel University. Currently she is the Managing Editor for InternetVIZ (www.internetviz.com) and she serves as a substitute teacher. She is the PR chair of the Lone Star Chapter and can be reached at PublicRelations@stc-dfw.org.
Linda has been a member of STC since 1979 when she joined the San Diego Chapter. Linda transferred to the Houston Chapter in 1990. She is now the Director-Sponsor for Region 5. Her most cherished STC award is that of Fellow, which she received in 1996. Linda has been an ongoing presence at STC Annual Conferences, where she has worked behind the scenes and in front of audiences every year since 1984.
Debbie Wiles is Manager of Technical Information Services for Marconi, a telecommunications hardware and software provider. She also serves as President of the Lone Star Chapter and is pursuing a Master of Arts in Technical Communication with Texas Tech University.
