A former LSC president (1996-97), Ann has produced award-winning documentation at Texas Instruments for many years. Recently, high-quality documentation was cited as a significant factor in obtaining new business.
Marian Blake is a Chemical Engineer who stumbled into Technical Writing about 16 years ago. Now a Documentation Lead with Verizon, she coordinates Development documentation for systems that support small and medium Retail Markets. She finds Technical Communication to be an invigorating profession that provides her with great flexibility of schedule.
Paul W. Conant is the owner of PWC Editing, where he provides proofreading, word processing and copyediting (in any order), with the desire to make you look better.
Jackie Damrau works at Perot Systems on the Instructional Design and Development team in the Training and Development Department. She has more than 20 years of technical writing experience, and 6 years in creating training materials and delivering soft skills training courses. When not spending the majority of her time working for Perot Systems or assisting with the local STC chapter, Jackie enjoys going to the movies, reading classic literature authors or Irish/Scottish/English historical romance novels or time-travel romance novels.
Doug has been a member of the Lone Star Chapter since 1990, when he transferred from the Boston chapter. He has served in various capacities, including competition judge, chair of the Community Service Committee, and is now in his second year as newsletter Managing Editor. Doug works for Kronos in Cleburne, Texas.
Angie Gardi has over six years of writing experience in both the IT and healthcare industries. In her spare time she writes poetry and fiction, in the hopes of publishing her work someday.
A former LSC president (2001-2002), Michelle is one of the many LSC members working for MetaSolv in Plano. Michelle now serves the chapter as Volunteer Coordinator and as Webmaster.
Community Service Manager Lisa Martin is a technical writer for Lennox Industries and a teacher of English at Eastfield Community College in Mesquite. Currently she is coordinating the book drive and Career Day projects.
Senior Member Kathryn Poe is current President of the Lone Star Chapter. A self-proclaimed Knowledge Wrangler, she is currently enlightening minds in the financial sector and preparing for the STC International Conference in May 2003.
Marilyn C. Pospisil (pronounced pos-pi-shul) has 18 years technical writing and 11 years copywriting experience. She has received numerous local and international writing awards from STC, and recognition from the computer industry press for her indexing capabilities. Her “fifteen minutes of fame” came in 1992, when she appeared as a model in an annual report.
Carla Wardin is a technical marketing writer at TechSmith, Inc, which is the leading provider of screen capture and screen recording software for the office professional. She formerly taught English and English as a Second Language courses at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, IL. Carla currently resides in Cary, NC. Debbie Wiles is Manager of Technical Information Services for Marconi, a telecommunications hardware and software provider. She also serves as First Vice President of the Lone Star Chapter and is pursuing a Master of Arts in Technical Communication with Texas Tech University.
