December Holiday Gathering

By Elisa Miller, PR Committee

December is the time for Celebration and the Lone Star Chapter of STC has plenty to offer in Holiday Spirit. Please join chapter officers past and present and chapter members and guests for the December Holiday Party and Anniversary Celebration, which is scheduled for our regular meeting date of Thursday, Dec. 12 at the Crowne Plaza North Dallas/Addison Hotel, 14315 Midway Road (North of 635, South of Belt Line).

Interested in chapter nostalgia? This is the place to see it! Looking for pictures of you in your younger-member days? You just might find them here! The officers have been culling chapter archives that have been stashed in Binion Amerson's garage—hidden away just for this occasion! We'll be exhibiting this great stuff as a part of our anniversary celebration.

The attire is Holiday dress, so dig out that Christmas sweater and those ornament earrings, or put on your favorite party clothes. This is the time to get festive and celebrate the Lone Star Chapter's history.

Remember to bring books to the Holiday Party as your entry contribution. Once again, we are collecting books for the Half Price Book Drive (described in detail in the November Technically Write). We need all sorts of books, but particularly children's books in Spanish. We collected almost 200 books last year, so let's work to do it again!

This party is free for each paid current member and one guest. We are requesting that members make reservations so that we'll know how many to expect and can plan accordingly. The party will also feature a cash bar, and music by Sax & Company for your listening and dancing pleasure.

You can place your reservations from the Web site (www.stc-dfw.org) or by calling 972.558.1622 no later than 5:00 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 9.

See ya there!
