Andrea Ames Speaks on Thursday, March 14.
On Thursday, March 14, 2002 at 6:30 p.m. at the Harvey Hotel-DFW Airport, 4545 W. John Carpenter Freeway the Lone Star Chapter (LSC) hosts Andrea Ames' presentation "Communicating Effectively with Interaction.”
When we design and develop information architectures for online use, do we think about the interactive aspects of our information? The navigation? Do we think of our information as systems? In truth, when we develop information for online presentation, we are designing software--software with a user interface and an interactive aspect that requires conscious thought, planning, and design.
In her lively presentation, Andrea L. Ames will discuss principles of user-interface design and research about how people use online information systems. Then, she’ll demonstrate several interaction techniques and how best to use them to communicate. She’ll target intermediate and advanced Help and Website designers and writers who want to learn interaction design techniques that communicate. Her suggestions for print and Web-based resources will help everyone get started on the topic of interaction design.
Michelle Knoerzer, LSC president, enthusiastically encourages everyone to attend Ames' high-energy presentation.
"Andrea is a mover and shaker in our field," asserts Knoerzer. "With her talk on user-centered design, we will learn to create successful user experiences for online media."
